Exams & X-Rays

At Gulfside Dental, your health comes first. When you visit us for a dental exam, we take detailed digital X-rays—the safest, quickest, and most effective way to spot potential issues early.

Low Radiation Digital X-Ray Technology

Gone are the days of old-school film X-rays that needed darkrooms and harsh chemicals. Today, we use advanced digital X-rays that instantly produce crystal-clear images — no waiting or chemical mess. Plus, our electronic dental x-ray sensors emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional film methods. (Of course, we still offer lead aprons for neck and torso protection if you'd like extra peace of mind.)

Our digital x-rays provide highly detailed images that can be magnified and adjusted on-screen, helping Dr. Botero, Dr. McCash, or Dr. Reyes deliver the most accurate diagnosis possible. As part of your exam, your X-ray images will be displayed in your exam room so you can review and discuss everything with your dentist.

Introducing the Planmeca ProMax® 3D Plus

Gulfside Dental is proud to offer imaging with the Planmeca ProMax® 3D Plus to enhance your care further. This cutting-edge system captures 2D and 3D images with exceptional clarity, allowing our team to diagnose issues more precisely and plan treatments more accurately.

With lower radiation exposure, faster imaging times, and full 3D visualization of teeth, jaw, and facial structures, the Planmeca ProMax® 3D Plus gives us a complete picture of your oral health. It gives you even more reasons to smile confidently.

Comprehensive Dental Exams & X-Rays You Can Trust

X-rays are a vital part of every patient's comprehensive exam. They help us see beyond what’s visible to the naked eye, detecting hidden cavities, signs of infection, bone anomalies, and more.

In addition to reviewing your X-rays, your dentist will conduct a visual screening for oral cancer, a serious condition that claims the life of one American every hour. We know early detection can save lives and are committed to thorough, proactive screenings.

After completing your x-rays and visual exam, your dentist will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may include a professional cleaning, recommendations for any needed dental work, and an assessment of your bite and smile to help keep you looking and feeling your best.
